Dont replace - Just Repair
Most people think that when there double glazed doors and windows start to break or the glass mists up that they have to replace it with new.
Double glazing company's will also tell you that you need new doors and windows just to get the sale, but in reality the actual Upvc takes more than 450 years to biodegrade.
So if you had your windows replaced with brand new windows then your old Upvc doors and windows would just end up being dumped in a landfill to contribute to the recognised plastic pollution that is impacting our environment.
The Upvc frames themselves offer very little thermal properties, most of the heat escapes through the double glazed glass units and also through the gaskets/seals if the door or window is not sealing properly, both of which can be repaired or replaced, along with window and door locks and handles, and if the Upvc frames look discoloured and faded then these can also be cleaned or sprayed to make them look brand new again.
Misted Glass
Misted glass is a common problem on double glazing, a lot of companies will come round and tell you that you need a new window, but this simply is not true, the glass can be replaced and upgraded to a more energy efficient glass
Multi point locking system
If your door is not closing properly then we can adjust it so that it does, or we can replace the cylinder lock, gearbox, or the whole multi point locking system.
Hinges
If your window is not shutting correctly and letting in draft, then we can replace your window hinges for a brand new set, from fire saftey hinges (the window will open wider so you can escape in the event of a fire), to hinges which allows you to easily clean the outside of your window from the inside.
